Stripped Delusion

Stripped Delusion
It is delusion to rely on a horse for safety,
for all its power it cannot save.-Ps.33:17
1
Contractions of her memories commenced.
Catalogued pictures formerly honey-condensed
rotated quickly rapidly anxieties distresses she heaved
grieving the deceitful steps of ballroom lovers misperceived.

Where did time get a handshake poisoned?
Ordering actors’ guilty meals served to a past tired
of contentious minds winter’s abusive fights confessed
to street corpses in the linens of my life sorrowful alas retired.

2
Pity oh pity, in misery shouted…
Pleading my internal idols retreated
shipping pretty illusions castles amassed
to Sheol whose counsels fallacies my all grilled.

The limping sky screening how valued

my windows of hope have the truth desired
as I modeled Spring away for designers self named
until Gregorian chants my heart to the arms of God transferred.

3
O victorious music! my soul has listened
as you rescued me from the path disgraced
transporting me to adore the Sacrament blessed.
O unworthy me! Like Samuel my archived name called.

O wondrous day! my wastrels washed
my violent manners encouraged glorified.
Anew I walk stroll gracefully fiercely restored
genuinely magnificently as a Lady of virtues clothed.

4
O Summer of life renewed.
Adieu my delusions beloved
Here kneeling in thanksgiving forever stripped
I am of my illusions pour toujours in the ocean drowned

O Shining Mount Sinai, on your ground I stand resurrected
Perceiving the struggles ahead hopeful I am comforted
Dancers of the past my cheek their hands lured
Visions I hold firm of my life transfigured.

139 Days - 161 Poems - 21 posts (Poems 34 to 39)

Dear readers,

it been few days. Though I have missed updating you, I have faithfully done my best to keep writing.
It has not been easy, but is anything ever easy. In between recovering and fulfilling both my societal
duties and that of our home, inspiration did not lack.

So let me update you from where we last left of - being a people pleaser instead of pleasing the Almighty first.

July 11, 2013
  • Poem 34 was inspired by the gift I have through baptism of being the daughter of the wealthiest King that has ever lived. 143 - 166 - 21
  • Poem 35 was inspired by conversations that were being held on vocations. 143 -165 -21

July 12, 2013
  •  Poem 36 was inspired by courageous acts I witnessed around me and how our life can radiate when we walk into what God has in store for us. 142 - 164 - 21

July 13, 2013
  •   Poem 37 was inspired by a priceless moment experienced at a vigil. Today, we celebrated as well the Feast of Mother Mary under her title of Rosa Mystica, the mother of the religious. See the devotion to our Lady under this title is very much popular in West Africa and in South Asia. Today, I ponder on the Crown she gives us her beloved if we wish to receive it. 141 - 163 - 21

July 14, 2013
  • Poem 38 was inspired by Our Lady. See, I have been reflecting, and studying the Immaculate Conception - the writings of St Kolbe awhile ago prompted me to start reading the Encyclical Pope Pius X wrote on the Immaculate Conception - Ad Diem Illum Laetissimum.  I am not done reading it, but what I read so far sparked me to pen. 140-162 -21

July 15, 2013
  • Poem 39 is a short poem on the Eucharist. I was reflecting on the privilege of the Eucharist. What a gift of Life itself.

148 Days - 172 Poems - 22 Weekly Poems Posts ( Poems 27, 28)

My dear readers,

Yesterday although an unusual day filled with  new experiences
was so overwhelming that writing did not happen. For the first
time since the beginning of this challenge, I missed a day.

----Today, I was inspired by two themes;
  1. Silence because often times it unveils unheard riches
  2. Sickness because such has been my state for the past two days.
Countdown: 148 Days - 172 Poems - 22 Weeks / 22 Poems to post

Thank You.
